Our Recent Knitivity Community Project!

At Pottersway House, our residents have been embracing their creative side through a very special community project. Led with energy and enthusiasm by our head housekeeper, Dianne, the group has been busily knitting a collection of colourful squares to support All Saints’ Church in Church Lawton with their beautiful “Knitivity” display.

Knitting has long been a source of joy and comfort for many of our residents, and this project has given them the chance to combine a much-loved pastime with a shared purpose. Each square has been carefully crafted, full of character and individuality, and together they will form part of a wonderful festive scene at the church. For many of our residents, this has sparked fond memories of making clothes, toys and gifts for loved ones over the years.

The excitement around the project grew when one of the finished knitted kings made a very special visit to Pottersway House. Residents and staff alike were delighted to see the character in person, and the visit truly brought the project to life. There was much laughter and conversation as everyone admired the craftsmanship and it gave our residents a real sense of pride to see how their contributions would fit into the future church performance.

The “Knitivity” is a perfect example of how creative activities can bring people together and help residents feel connected to the local community. It has been a joy to watch the squares grow into something meaningful and anticipation is building as we look forward to seeing the completed display at All Saints’ Church.

At Pottersway House, projects like this are a reminder that our home is full of life and companionship. We are so proud of the talents our residents continue to share and of the strong links we hold with our community.
